Every year the WPIAL crowns champions in sports from Football to Lacrosse and everywhere in between, and at the end of the year it is pretty hard to argue the team with the gold was the very best. That got us at Champs Sports Network headquarters thinking…which school is home to the best student section?

Champs Sports Network is challenging student sections all over the WPIAL this basketball season to bring out their best themes, best chants, and overall school spirit to compete in Champs first ever “Student Section Challenge" .

During coverage of basketball this season, we are asking student sections to submit a video from one game during the 2013-2014 season. That game will be where you need to pull out all the stops to earn points with our “expert” judges.  At the end of the season one student section will be crowned “Champs Sports Network Student Section of the Year” and members of the winning section will be featured in the first ever Champs Sports Network commercial!

Please read the rules and regulations below and once you think your video is ready upload it to youtube with the title; "Champs Student Section  Challenge: YOUR SCHOOL" the n email us at [email protected] with the link and the name and contact info of one member of the section. 

Videos:

- Must be no less than 30 seconds and no more than 2 mintues. 

- By submitting you allow Champs Sports Network to use any and all members in the video in any form or media by CSN or affliates. 

The student sections will be judged on a number of factors:

-Theme/Unity (This defines the very best of student sections)

-Chants (From the classic “We can’t hear you” to the more personalize and original)

-Size/Noise (Classification will be taken into consideration)

-In game involvement (If someone throws one off the scoreboard…well you should know what to do)

-Signage (The best student sections let people know who they are and maybe even come up with a catchy name or just give Champs a shout out, we'll let you decide.)

-Champs Sports Network Chant (Put together a chant with "Champs Sports Network" name in it, the more creative the better)

*Remember, there is a fine line between being funny and breaking the sportsmanship code. So as a general rule if you’re going to be asked to stop we can’t reward you for it*
