Champs to Broadcast Kyle Wilson Memorial Basketball Game
By: Staff Reports
The Champs Sports Network will continue it's support of the Kyle B. Wilson Scholarship Fund as CSN will broadcast the first Kyle Wilson Memorial Basketball Game this Tuesday at 6:15pm at Robert Morris University's Sewell Center. Two schools that Kyle attended will take part as Sewickley Academy will play Pittsburgh Central Catholic.
This will be the second event Champs has covered for The Kyle B. Wilson Scholarship Fund. The first was last October at the "One of a Kind" Banquet held at Heinz Field.
"Its an honor to once again be able broadcast an event for such a great family, and what has turned out to be a great Fund." Champs Sports Network Executive Director Matt Farago said.

"Now a days there are so many great causes and so many Scholarship Funds, that it's so hard to pick and chose which ones to be associated with, but when one has a personal meaning to you like the KBW (Kyle B. Wilson Scholarship Fund) does to me, it just makes it that much easier and that much more worth while."
Kyle attended Sewickey Academy from Kindergarten through 8th grade, before transferring to Pittsburgh Central for high school. Both schools have been very supportive in the efforts to make this game possible, after being postponed from the first winter storm that hit our area back in December.
The Memorial game will also hold the formal announcement of the "Kyle Wilson All-Star Basketball Classic" Presented by the Champs Sports Network. The Classic will hold four high school all-star games, two girls, two boys, with each class having its' own team. More information will be released in a press release on Tuesday.
"Champs Sports Network is really proud to team up with KBW to put together this all-star game, and we look to have some of the top athletes from the WPIAL on our rosters. Farago remarked.
Two players from both Sewickley and Central Catholic will be announced on to the roster during the pre-game of Saturday's game at Robert Morris, the remaining players will be announced on the Champs Sports Network Website through the WPIAL Playoffs with a new video feature that will show you each stop the CSN staff makes to award a player to the roster.
"Instead of broadcasting games in the playoffs, champs will be making our way around to different games recognizing players that have made this years all-star team, fans and parents will be able to watch the roster grow with a video feature that will be added just for the "Road Trip".
Saturday's game pins two of the best teams in the WPIAL, Sewickley the defending WPIAL Champions are (15-2) (7-0) in section 4 Class A, while Pittsburgh Central Catholic will bring in a record of (15-3) (9-1) in section 2 Class AAAA. Tune into the the Champs Sports Network Saturday night for the exclusive broadcast of the Kyle Wilson Memorial Basketball Game.
